Where to begin?

It's the first of December tomorrow.

Imagine that. One month until the end of 2009 and even though the Christmas spirit is building all around me, it may as well be the middle of January as far as I'm concerned. My phone's sim card is broken, my Internet is down, I've just had an argument with my parents, and the boy I like is going out with a pavlova - what's next? Oh yes, and my best friend lives a thousand miles away and hardly ever so much as comes on Skype anymore; damn these busy lifestyles, that's all I can say. Still - who cares? It's almost Christmas and one is never too old for an advent calendar.

Okay. Great start. I have been told that I just like complaining and I guess it's true... maybe it's a Taurus thing.

Anyway. I'm Molly. I'm sixteen and a half years old and I'm in my first year at Henley college, Henley, UK, and loving it, where I'm studying English Language, History, Media Studies and IT. I write, I read, I sing (two marks off distinction at grade 4 over the summer), I create spoofs, I'm a complete grammar freak, I love music and musicals, especially Wicked (hence the green theme of my blog) and I'm in a vocal group, Octava, which is made up of eight ex-students from my old secondary school, Langtree. We have our first concert on the 16th December and I'm already extremely excited - though I will be terrified on the night but it's so worth it. I have a job which I started on September 11th (on the first day of college, incidentally), waitressing at the Woody Nook, which is... well, a job. I sing for YouTube and I have an account (RubberDucki12 if you're interested), on which I've met a whole load of fabtabulous people from around the world - my favourite of whom being Cora, the 22-year-old crazy Dane who has become the "twin separated by time" I mentioned at the start of this post. (FemalePhantom - check her out. She sings like an angel.) Since meeting her, I've fallen in love with Denmark and its wonderful language, which apparently I have an aptitude for - which I love to be told, whether it's true or not, though all I can really say is "I love you".

I don't really think there's anything else I can tell you about myself just yet. This is, hopefully, to be my log of my life right now; after plodding along fairly slowly for sixteen years (except for a blip last October/November), my life has suddenly got a little bit crazy and I'd like to remember this time, good and bad, in as much detail as possible because if school days are the best days of your life... well, I'm certainly not trusting my memory.

And the blog? Although I've always loved writing, I've never managed to keep a diary for more than... ooh, a day, but since I'm frequently addicted to the Internet but with absolutely nothing to do I thought writing it here might help. There's even a chance that people might actually find this and care. Though I don't see that happening, to be honest.

I'm well aware that you're probably already confused. Welcome to my world. Supposedly everything seems less complicated on paper but I'm not altogether convinced; but then I suppose that if you will join somebody's life halfway through, you're bound to be a little bit lost. It should get simpler from here though.

I'm also well aware that this probably isn't very interesting yet, and I know that if this were a book that I was reading I'd have put it back and chosen another by now. Stay with me though - please? Some stories take a while to capture the imagination.

Just to start you off, here are the people I'm most likely to talk about here:

Cora - my wonderful Danish friend, who knows me better than anybody else.
Becky - my awesome oldest friend ever - literally, she was born four days before me.
Zoe - my fabtabulous other best friend; inflicting yourself on people on the school bus does work, it seems.
Hannah - my incredibly awesome English Lang teacher.
Marion - the incredible singing teacher who now leads Octava.
Freddie - my brother. 'Nuff said.
Hollie/Rosie - my fabulous history buddies!
Alicia - one of my awesome new friends.

If I think of anybody else, I'll stick them here for you to refer to, but that's it for now. Thanks for reading and I'll see you guys tomorrow.

Molly x

P.S. I find it incredibly annoying that one can't indent these paragraphs whilst writing them.
